Life Partner Training Camp, June 16-27, 2008.
Training Camp

The Classroom component of the Life Partner Training Camp is vital for the trainees to learn about the COPE training methods.  Several days are spent learning the concepts, mingling with the dogs, and preparing for the "match".  After careful observation of the interactions between clients and dogs, the COPE staff match the dogs and their new Life Partners based on personalities, skill strengths and needs.  From day 3 or 4, the teams begin to bond for a life-long partnership.

Class1 Training Camp
A Life Partner Team Training Camp field trip to Petsmart afforded the group many opportunities for challenging their bond, and their dogs!
Fieldtrip 1 Field Trip 2
Field trips are a necessary and exciting part of the Life Partner Training Camp.  It allows the Teams to practice in public places, and provides C.O.P.E. staff an opportunity to assist with challenges in real life situations.
Field Trip
COPE is very grateful to RVH for the opportunity to tour areas of the hospital that may be off-limits to a regular tour group.  Many C.O.P.E. Life Partner Teams will visit these areas on their own during routine medical treatment long after Training Camp.
