Barrie MPP Aileen Carroll and
Ontario Trillium Foundation Program Manager, John Pugsley presents C.O.P.E. Founder, Jane Boake with a plaque signifying their two year grant that will support C.O.P.E. 's public relations and fundraising activities.
"This grant is all about achieving long term sustainability. The Ontario Trillium Foundation believed in our grass roots organization from the beginning and since then over 200 high school students have been matched with C.O.P.E. dogs to learn how to train them to become service dogs for over 20 Life Partners with disabilities. Almost every single one of those youth have either graduated or are still in school working toward graduation and the Life Partners are leading more fulfilled lives because of their C.O.P.E. dog. This tells us that C.O.P.E. 's unique programs work. And now, thanks to Trillium, C.O.P.E. Service Dogs is here to stay". |
