Canines in the Classroom gives high school students facing barriers, an opportunity to learn how to train service dogs. The program, which takes place during the school day, is linked to the Ontario secondary school curriculum. Students can earn high school credits learning essential literacy and workplace skills. Funds raised from Buddy Up 2023 will help COPE continue to deliver this amazing program in our community!
Drive Our Dogs to School
Be part of the COPE Service Dogs Family! If you have a couple of hours every month to volunteer, love dogs and live in the Barrie or Mississauga areas, here’s the opportunity you have been waiting for. Join our fantastic team of drivers that help transport our pups to high schools in your community. Flexible shifts at your convenience are available. Drivers use our COPE van that comes with the best canine passengers. No experience needed, we supply the training. Please contact email@example.com (Mississauga) or firstname.lastname@example.org (Barrie).
Our fosters play a very important role. COPE puppies-in-training are placed with Puppy Foster Volunteers from the time they are 7-8 weeks old, until they are matched with their life partner, or move on to do their life’s work (approximately 2 years).
Fostering a COPE dog is a life changing opportunity and we’re looking for some new volunteers to join our incredible team of fosters.
